Torrid Art Review from Monica

The Sparkle: Tour
Torrid Art features the erotic art photographs of Ryder Aedan Perry, and acts as his official website. Ryder and writer Bryan Borra have handcrafted their site to be a “diverse, dynamic…community.” Reading the about page, there are a lot of lofty ideas and ideals bandied about – honest emotions, women giving themselves to the viewer, artistic, tasteful, erotic, intimate, outward-reaching, “spans the gap between art and porn”.
And the photos are indeed lovely. They are original and exclusive to the site, with updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They promise that if you join you will get access to thousands of images, at up to 4000 pixels, with unlimited downloads, and no advertising.
The Decor: Layout
Logging on to the site, I feel as if I need to replace my usual beverage with some expensive red wine. There is a small menu at the top offering About, Support, Feedback, Casting, Tips and Rules, and Reviews. This is followed by a second navigation menu, offering Updates, Models, Articles, and Blogs. Along the left side of the page are a series of search bars, and links to the archives. On the right are snippets from the latest blog posts. Center stage we have pictures and thumbnails linking to the latest updates, including a teaser for the next set to come.
The Gold: Content
There are indeed plenty of photos at Torrid Art – over 10,300 at last count. The size of each gallery varies, averaging around 50 photos each. These feature 40 different models, clothed, partially nude, and eventually fully nude.. The photos aren’t taken in bare studios, and they are not re-touched. They are taken with great, art professional quality lighting and composition.
You can view the pics on the site, or you can download them. Downloading the galleries is easy, as each is available in a zip file. In fact, you get to choose what size of zip file you want for each set: 800 (4MB), 1200 (7.3MB), 2000 (16MB), 3000 (39MB), or 4000(60MB). Using a cable modem, I downloaded a 4000 pixel set of 64 images. It took 8 minutes to download, and it was completely worth it – I have never seen such large, high quality images from a porn site. The pics were 2667 x 4000 pixels. This means that on a wide screen 17″ monitor, set at the highest resolution available, I could see only about 1/12 of each picture at a time. And they were sharp and in focus, with a level of detail available that is almost certainly unrivaled among erotic photo sites. Just…wow.
The Bling: Extras
The extras at Torrid Art are the articles and blog posts. There are several articles currently available, on such topics as “How to Meet Women and Score,” “Sex and Exercise,” and “The Truth and the Lies about Aphrodisiacs.” The blogs are written by the photographer (focusing on his erotic photography), and the article author, Bryan Borra (focusing on his sexual exploits and adventures). All of these are free!
The Price: $$$
Well, they call it “donations,” but it’s the price of seeing the photo galleries – the rest of the site is free.

$29.95 for 30 days, non-recurring
