The Sparkle: Tour

Oh now this is different. Shot With Desire is an Australian fine art erotica site focusing on “ironically playful images that recontextualise classical mythology and intertwine themselves within stories of misfits and outcasts.” With a sepia storybook feel and self-proclaimed “subversive delights,” Shot With Desire aims to appeal to both straight and gay viewers with a penchant for the dark arts and crafts. Or goths. The preview (link at the bottom) is lovely, and they promise weekly updates and exclusive content.

The Decor: Layout

This is a very, um… simple opening page. At the top there is a menu offering Home, Members, Login, Preview, Become a Member, Join the Cast, Galleries, The Print Room, Links, and Testimonials. Below this are a pair of drop down menus. The first allows you to browse by selecting a model, and the second allows you to select a shoot. Below this are some play and pause buttons. The rest of the page is taken up with a large graphic of a book, with the Shot with Desire logo and a note to please use the drop down menus above to browse the gallery.

The Gold: Content

If you are looking for regular porn that just happens to have goths and punks in it, this isn’t the place. Selecting a model and shoot, you are taken to shadowy pictures overlaid with stories and text, which plays on the “book” described above. Eventually there are just photos telling the tale. The loading time for the streaming video was negligible, and the screen size was great - I have no numbers, but it’s definitely on the large side. There is no way to download the videos, as they play in Flash.

So um, yeah. That’s about it. Still photos and some text (very very) short stories in Flash videos. Now don’t get me wrong - the photos are very nice. Professional, artsy, dark but well lit, and very erotic. There are about 48 models on the site currently, each with one to three videos under their belts - although some are still “coming soon.” It’s a site with a very specialized niche and audience - if you like it dark and deep, with piercing, tattoos, and lots of black clothes, this might just be the site for you.

The Bling: Extras

The Print Room is going to have “high quality prints of your favorite photos available soon.” They aren’t there yet though.

I would assume all of these are recurring, but I was unable to get more info without giving them my credit card number. They do use a reputable company though.

The Rating: 8/10

Great pictures but no downloads and not a whole heck of a lot of content yet. Perfect for those who want their porn with emo/punk/goth cred.
