Interview with Buck Angel

Monica: Buck, can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Buck Angel: I am a female-to-male transsexual. I was born female and had a sex change to become a man. That is, I take testosterone and had surgery to remove my breasts. And I work out at the gym a lot. But, I have not had any surgery below the waist. So that is how and why I am, “The Man with a Pussy”! I opted not to have surgery to create a cock because I have never seen one that functions and looks like a natural one, and what I was born with works great.
Monica: For the people who have never seen your site before, could you explain exactly what kind of sex they can expect on your paysite.
Buck Angel: You can probably see things you have never seen before. And that is saying a lot in the world of adult entertainment! I basically have tons of hot hardcore sex with men, women and transsexuals (MTF and FTM). I would say the my content is mostly me with other guys because my biggest fan base is gay men. Though I have lots fans of all types. My site contains tons of photo galleries, video clips, private live webcam shows, and a new reality show that gives my members an inside look at my life traveling, performing, and all the stuff that goes on in my world. Monica: Tell me about your audience, what kind of people enjoy your website? Are they primarily male or female?
Buck Angel: Well, like I said before, my fans are mostly gay men. But, I also have to say that in the last five months I have seen a huge increase in women joining my site and buying my videos, which is so cool. They also love my nasty man-on-man action. I am excited that women are buying my porn. I heard that women were not big consumers of porn before and that is changing with sites like mine.
Monica: What do you enjoy most about being a pornstar?
Buck Angel: Showing the world that sex is positive. I also really love that I am exposing people to a whole new genre of porn. It really is amazing to see the great responses I have been getting about my work. I hear how it has really helped to change people’s minds about sexuality and gender, and helped them to become more comfortable with themselves. When people see my work it becomes clear that things aren’t just black and white, and that we can be whoever we want and we can have the kind of sex we want. I also like having the opportunity to show that safe sex can be hot sex.
Monica: You’ve been interviewed on some television shows, and of course you have your paysite online. Do you ever get recognized on the street?
Buck Angel: Yes I sure do. More and more, as I travel, people say stuff like, “Did I see you on TV?” Or, “I know you from somewhere.” To, “Hey Buck Angel! I love your work!” It is pretty cool the way people respond to me.
Monica: Do you think the FTM porn niche will become as popular as shemale/tranny porn one day?
Buck Angel: Of course that is what I am hoping will happen. I really am trying to build on this niche, but it is difficult. There just aren’t that many FTM guys who feel as comfortable with their bodies and open with their sexuality as I do. Mostly they just want to have the cock surgery and get on with their lives. They want to blend in, which I can understand. But my goal is to eventually get behind the camera and just starting shooting all FTM films.
Monica: At what age did you finally decide to undergo your transformation?
Buck Angel: I was in my mid 20′s. It was a scary decision because I wasn’t sure how things were going to turn out. There wasn’t a ton of research available, or doctors who were familiar about guys like me back then. But I just could not go on living in that female body anymore. It was
either change of die.
Monica: When you started taking male hormones, what sort of changes did you undergo? Did you find it hard to cope with any of those changes at first?
Buck Angel: WOW! I knew my life was about to change and the most amazing sense came over me. I felt like a new person. I started to become less angry. I began to see hair growth and my voice changed. It was totally like going through puberty. I just loved the changes. The one thing I did not like was this time frame where I thought I looked really weird. I had been on hormones between one and two years, and my body was morphing.
Monica: Do you get tired of answering questions about being a FTM transsexual?
Buck Angel: HAA!! No, it is my job now. It is really important and it is wonderful that I have a voice so I can explain this to everyone. I really do believe I am changing the world.
Monica: You have a lot of tattoos. Did you start getting tattooed before or after you became a man physically?
Buck Angel: I started way before my change and had most of these done before I started taking testosterone. I always love the way big, muscled tattooed guys looked and that was how I envisioned myself looking: Like a Tom of Finland guy.
Monica: Which is your favorite tattoo?
Buck Angel: My Buck Angel Tattoo on my lower belly and the Pervert tattoo on my back are my two favorites.
Monica: Besides working out, what kinds of things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Buck Angel: I moved to the Yucatan in Mexico and my home is so amazing. I love spending time there between my hectic travels and busy schedule. I like just being at home and reading or taking a trip to the beach or visiting the amazing Mayan ruins that are everywhere around my home. I have adopted five dogs and have two that I brought from New Orleans, plus a cat. So, I like to hang out and spend time with them.
Monica: Tell me a couple of random weird facts about yourself that people wouldn’t already know.
Buck Angel: I have tons of gas! (It is because of all the protein I eat). Sometimes I cry when I watch a sad movie.
Monica: Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
Buck Angel: Living in Mexico where I would love to help start a GBLT center. They don’t have one where I live, but we have a huge gay population here. I also hope that the genre I started will fully take off and that tons of guys will be calling themselves “Men with Pussies”
Monica: What is one question that nobody has asked you in an interview before? And can you answer it please :)
Buck Angel: Nobody has ever asked me if I’ve hidden anything in my pussy while going through airport security. The answer is, “No, I haven’t.” But I have thought about doing it just for “fun”! Nobody ever asked me if I enjoyed smoking cigars before I had my sex change. And the answer is, “No.” I only really started to enjoy cigars after my sex change.
Monica: What is new with the Transsexual Man paysite?
Buck Angel: As I mentioned earlier, I have started a new Reality Show which basically shows me living my life–mostly on the road. It shows everything that I do (with no secrets at all). It show how people interact with me and all of the different situations I get myself into.
Monica: Do you have any new projects on the go?
Buck Angel: Right now I have a new DVD release coming out, “EVEN MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK 2″. I am off to London now to perform at Torture Garden with the film I did called “SCHWARZWALD: THE MOVIE YOU CAN DANCE TO.” It is a really cool movie based on the legendary NYC Black Party. Then I’m off to Paris where they will premiere my film and have me there as a presenter at a Porn Film Festival. I am hoping to also get to Brazil and Berlin this year with my films.
